Weighing Your Weight Loss options

CMC’s New England Weight Management Institute (NEWMI) has been helping patients meet their weight loss goals for more than a decade and has grown to become the state’s largest surgical weight loss program.

Recognized as a comprehensive center under the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), we have developed a multidisciplinary team of bariatricians, surgeons, advanced practice providers, registered dieticians and an exercise physiologist experienced in surgical weight loss (bariatric surgery), medical weight loss (bariatric medicine), and meal replacement plans (OPTIFAST®). Our team has a proven track record of success in helping patients achieve weight loss both with and without surgery.

At NEWMI, we view obesity as a complex chronic disease that often requires multiple types of treatments to control. We'll work with you on many fronts to treat this disease. For long term success, we believe in providing you with education on nutrition and exercise principles along with behavioral tools to develop healthier eating habits. In combination with surgical and medical treatments for weight loss, you will have what you need to successfully maintain a healthy weight lifestyle.

Whether surgical weight loss or medical weight loss is right for you, our dedicated nutritionists and exercise specialists will support you every step of your weight loss journey.

Take the first step and start living the life you want. Contact CMC's New England Weight Management Institute today to learn more about your weight loss options:

The COVID-19

obesity connection

“Simply being overweight increases your risk of severe illness. Recent studies have shown that obesity is the primary risk factor for developing a severe case of COVID-19 in those under the age of 55.” Read more of Dr. Andrew Wu’s article in the Union Leader.
