COVID-19 Vaccine & Screening Mammograms
A message from Dr. Jessica Ryan, Medical Director, Breast Care Center
The COVID-19 vaccine can—and should—cause an immune response in your body. It means the vaccine is working! However, it can also lead to a number of temporary changes in your body like enlarged lymph nodes. If you have recently had a COVID-19 vaccine and have a screening mammogram coming up, please talk with your breast care team about the option to reschedule your mammogram in 4-6 weeks to avoid imaging these temporary changes in your body. Of course, if you have other concerns like a lump or pain in your breast, do not delay. As always, our breast health experts are here for you. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the Breast Care Center at 603.663.5270.
