Breast Cancer Care During COVID-19
A message from Dr. Jessica Ryan, Medical Director, Breast Care Center
As the COVID pandemic continues to evolve, we will continue to adapt our practices in order to offer you the highest quality in breast health and screening, all while being safe.
The COVID-19 vaccine can—and should—cause an immune response in your body. It means the vaccine is working! However, it can also lead to a number of temporary changes in your body like enlarged lymph nodes. If you have recently had a COVID-19 vaccine and have a screening mammogram coming up, please talk with your breast care team about the option to reschedule your mammogram in 4-6 weeks to avoid imaging these temporary changes in your body. Of course, if you have other concerns like a lump or pain in your breast, do not delay. As always, our breast health experts are here for you. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the Breast Care Center at 603.663.5270.
Breast Health & Screening
We incorporate guidelines presented by national organizations with the needs and landscape we find here locally. While it may be safe to delay screening for several months, CMC has reopened our screening mammography services. If you have a breast concern, such as a new breast lump that doesn’t go away, this needs prompt attention and can be taken care of safely in our center, again all while keeping you safe.
