At the Aortic Center at CMC’s New England Heart & Vascular Institute, we specialize in the early detection, monitoring and treatment of these complex aortic conditions employing state-of-the-art imaging and the most innovative open surgical and endovascular techniques.

The aorta is the largest blood vessel in the body, carrying blood from the heart to all the major organ systems. The aorta is under tremendous pressure and sometimes can become enlarged (aneurysm) or tear (dissection). If discovered early, many of these problems can be treated electively, often with minimally invasive endovascular procedures.

Are you at risk for an aortic aneurysm?

Screening is the only way to detect an aortic aneurysm before symptoms appear.

Medicare Part B (medical insurance) covers a one-time abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening ultrasound if you’re at risk. You are considered ‘at risk’ if you meet the following criteria:

  • A family history of abdominal aortic aneurysms
  • You’re a male 65-75 years old
  • Have smoked at least 100 cigarettes in your lifetime
If you meet the above qualifications, call our Aortic Center to schedule your abdominal aortic screening at: 603.361.9604

Patients will be seen at one of our two Aortic Center locations:
Vein & Vascular Specialists
160 South River Road
Suite 100
