As soon as you are admitted, you will be cared for by our interdisciplinary Limb Loss Management Care Team to work with you on your treatment plan and goals to prepare you for your next level of care. We provide a medically supervised, safe environment for your surgical recovery.

Outpatient Limb Loss Care

Managing an amputation is a life-long experience. That’s why your continuum of care under the Limb Loss Management Program extends well beyond your hospital stay and throughout the stages of your recovery. CMC Outpatient Rehabilitation Services picks up your interdisciplinary care once you are discharged from the hospital and will help you work toward your recovery goals.

CMC Outpatient Rehabilitation Services Include:

  • Physiatry
Our skilled staff works with you to address your individualized needs for returning to daily life at home, at work, or in the community. Our therapists will work closely with you and your prosthetist to assist in your limb care and attaining independence through your prosthetic management and functional mobility skills. 

Interdisciplinary Limb Loss Clinic

Whether living with your amputation is new to you or you have a long history, our interdisciplinary Limb Loss Clinic is designed to help you and your family meet the challenges you face and to assist you in maintaining an independent and healthy lifestyle. 

Limb Loss Clinic screenings at CMC Outpatient Rehab include meeting with:

  • Medical provider
  • Physical therapist 
  • Nurse case manager
  • Dietitian
  • Prosthetist from Next Step Bionics and Prosthetics, Inc.
We assess your abilities, psychosocial concerns and healthcare needs including skin care management, safe functional mobility, and your prosthesis use or candidacy. Screenings may result in a referral to a specialist to address your individual healthcare and mobility concerns. 

Your healthcare provider can refer you to CMC’s Interdisciplinary Limb Loss Clinic during hospital discharge,  home or outpatient care or long-term healthcare follow-up appointments.
