CMC offers exceptional vascular and surgical care for amputations. As soon as you are admitted, you will also be cared for by our interdisciplinary Amputee Management Care Team which will work with you on your treatment plan and goals and prepare you for your next level of care. Following your surgery, we provide a medically supervised, safe environment for your surgical recovery.

Outpatient Amputee Care

Managing an amputation is a life-long experience. That’s why your continuum of care under the Amputee Management Program extends well beyond your hospital stay and throughout the stages of your recovery. CMC Outpatient Rehabilitation Services picks up your interdisciplinary care once you are discharged from the hospital and will help you work toward your recovery goals. Our services include physical and occupational therapy, nurse case management and physiatry.

Interdisciplinary Amputee Clinic

Whether you’re a recent or long-time amputee, our Interdisciplinary Amputee Care Clinic is designed to help you and your family meet the challenges you face and to assist you in maintaining an independent and healthy lifestyle. Screenings are offered once a month at CMC’s Dartmouth Commons location. Our healthcare providers include physiatry, Next Step Bionics and Prosthetics, Inc., physical therapists, a dietician, and a nurse case manager from CMC. We assess your physical abilities and healthcare concerns including skin care management, safe functional mobility, and your prosthetic use or candidacy. Screenings may result in a referral to a specialist to address your individual healthcare and mobility concerns.
