Catholic Medical Center (CMC) is pleased to announce a five-star quality rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in its annual quality review of more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide. CMC is one of just three New Hampshire hospitals to receive the five-star distinction and one of 483 nationwide. CMS rates hospitals from one to five stars evaluating five quality areas: mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience, and timely and effective care. The Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating is based on a hospital’s performance compared to all hospitals across the country. “I am extremely proud of our team for their dedication to quality care for each and every patient,” said Interim Chief Medical Officer Dr. James Tanner. “The five-star rating system allows patients to easily determine which hospitals are high-performing to make a more informed choice for themselves or their loved ones. As CMC is the only New Hampshire five-star hospital in the Greater Manchester region, patients should feel comforted that they can receive high-quality, compassionate care right in their community.” For more information about the Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings click here.
