Virtual Candlelight Memorial Vigil for Homeless

Paying tribute to the homeless in our community who have passed in 2020

Published 12/21/2020

On this first long night of winter, or the winter solstice, we recognize Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day. It’s set aside to honor those who have died in our community during the last year while experiencing homelessness.

On this day we usually gather for a ceremony in Manchester’s Veterans Park, but as many events were adapted this year, we have developed a video to recognize those we have lost, which includes the reading of names and luminaries to honor those men and women. Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig also reads a proclamation to recognize the event.

Please take a moment and watch as CMC’s Health Care for the Homeless, advocates and healthcare workers, friends and members of the faith community to pay tribute to the lives of the homeless and formerly homeless who have died in 2020.
