State-of-the-Art Surgical Suites
The Surgery Department at CMC includes 10 state-of-the-art surgical suites: eight for general surgery and two for cardiac surgery. The addition of a hybrid operating room in 2012 combines the traditional operating room with the best imaging and cardiac catheterization equipment. Having multiple technologies in the same operating room fosters innovative surgical approaches that can improve patient outcomes.
Our Hybrid Operating Room can be used either for minimally invasive or open surgery. Through real-time imaging, a patient’s anatomy can be evaluated as necessary during the surgical procedure. The “hybrid” concept comes from combining features of an operating room and an interventional suite. The Hybrid-OR can also be used by an interdisciplinary team, leading to increased flexibility and efficiency of workflow.
