New—Headbands for Heros
Attention crafters we need your help creating these Headbands for Heroes. These ear-saver headbands help to reduce the friction caused by wearing masks constantly. Wearing masks with elastics around the ears for extended periods of time can be uncomfortable and cause chaffing to the back of the ear. Click here for a pattern and drop off information is below.
Note: You can also purchase headbands and simply add buttons to them.
Thank you!

Make a mask
CMC is looking for volunteers interested in making homemade masks due to the national shortages of surgical masks and N-95 masks. These masks are essential to protect both our patients and staff against COVID-19. Style isn’t important, but functionality is. Well-sewn masks without frayed or missed seams or ‘holes’ is important. The fabric print doesn’t matter, but we do care that it’s 100% cotton. Finally, elastics should be made to go around the ears, not around the head.  Upon delivery, CMC will launder each mask prior to use and add the necessary filter to each mask.

Click here for instructions to make a mask to protect the N95 mask
(note: this goes OVER the mask and does not require a pocket for an insert)

Click here for instructions for surgical masks that we can put a protective insert in (note: CMC will provide the insert once the mask is received)

Drop-off Info
Completed items must be placed in a plastic bag or closed plastic box and can be delivered to CMC’s main lobby located at 100 McGregor Street, which is staffed from 8 AM–8 PM. Alternatively, people may contact Keri Degan at 603.498.0803 or keri.degen@cmc-nh.org  to coordinate a drop off.

If you don’t sew but would like to help with this effort, please donate to our COVID-19 Response Fund.

We are also currently accepting donations of other personal protective equipment (PPE) to help protect health care workers and patients from the spread of COVID-19, including: N95 masks, splash guards, non-latex gloves, disposable gowns (especially impervious gowns), protective suits (tyvek-like suits), disinfecting wipes and disposable stethoscopes.

Thank you for supporting our CMC patients and staff!
