CMC Licensed Nursing Assistant Regina Moiseau Honored for Excellence

Regina Moiseau, a Licensed Nursing Assistant from Catholic Medical Center, received the 14th annual LNA of the Year Award from the New Hampshire Hospital Association at a ceremony at the State House on June 6, 2013.

Moiseau, who works in the Rehabilitation Medicine Unit at CMC, was cited by her peers for “the fact that she concerns herself not just with the physical needs of her patients, but their emotional needs as well.”

In nominating her for the award, colleague Julie Becker also noted that Moiseau is fluent in English, French and Creole, “but most importantly, she speaks the language of hope.”

The recipient was chosen for the NHHA award from among a dozen finalists from hospitals throughout the state.

Other health care associations in the state honored their own award winners at the ceremony, which is sponsored by the Home Care Association of New Hampshire, New Hampshire Association of Counties/County Nursing Homes, New Hampshire Association of Residential Care Homes, New Hampshire Health Care Association, the New Hampshire Hospice & Palliative Care Organization and the NHHA.

These groups formed an alliance to pay annual tribute to the people who care for those in need.  The organizations solicit nominations from the state’s home care agencies, public and private nursing facilities and hospitals.  They select one individual to represent each group as LNA of the Year, based on compelling stories of kindness and caring.

“Our hospitals are very proud of their staff, especially the nurses and LNAs,” said Steve Ahnen, NHHA president.  “We receive some terrific nominations every year, and it’s always difficult to choose the LNA of the Year, but Regina Moiseau clearly deserves the recognition.”
