A Special Place for Special Babies
The Special Care Nursery at The Mom’s Place is a state-of-the-art neonatal facility designed to meet the distinct needs of our babies and their families. The Special Care Nursery is based on a model of Neonatal Couplet Care that is designed to facilitate bonding and attachment between parents and their newborns, encourage early parental involvement and boost parental confidence as the primary caregivers when they take their baby home.
Advanced Special Care
In collaboration with a team of neonatologists and other pediatric specialists from CHaD (Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth), we provide state-of-the-art monitoring systems 24/7. Each of the single-family rooms in the six-bed Special Care Nursery is equipped with a radiant warmer, isolette and bassinet. A Philosophy of Family-Centered Care
Our goal is to involve you as much as possible in the care of your infant. With this focus on family-centered care, our dedicated team of neonatologists, physicians, nurses, a lactation specialist, social workers, dieticians and physical therapists work collaboratively to educate and support you, while respecting your need to spend private time with your newborn. Our advanced philosophy of family-centered care minimizes separation between you and your baby, beginning immediately after birth and continuing throughout the transition home.
