Non-Surgical Weight Loss

If you decide to lose weight without surgery, you'll find many options through the New England Weight Management Institute.

These include: one-on-one weight counseling with a dietitian, exercise evaluation and training, medically supervised weight loss with the use of FDA approved weight loss medications, and the OPTIFAST® medically supervised fasting program for rapid weight loss.  We will work with you to find the right combination of treatments to help you loose weight.

CMC is the only OPTIFAST® clinic in Southern New Hampshire offering support and lifestyle education  to ensure long term success.

How the OPTIFAST® Program Works

Before you enter the OPTIFAST® Program, you’ll receive an initial evaluation to determine if OPTIFAST® is right for you.

Once you start the program, you’ll progress through the three phases:
  • Active Weight Loss: You’ll consume the OPTIFAST® meal replacement formulas instead of your usual foods, so you don’t have to worry about counting calories. You will also begin important lifestyle changes.
  • Transition: You’ll gradually learn how to add self-prepared foods back into your diet, while continuing with lifestyle change education.
  • Long-Term Management: You can participate in ongoing classes and support sessions to help you manage your weight in the future.
Appointment Options in Response to COVID-19

As we respond to the coronavirus disease, we are making it easier—and safer—to get care. The New England Weight Management Institute at CMC is now offering telehealth visits.

  • Existing patients: Telehealth visits are available for pre-bariatric surgery visits, medical weight loss visits, post operative visits for patients greater than one month post op, and OPTIFAST® follow-up visits
  • Patients who currently have an appointment scheduled: Our staff will be reaching out to you soon to determine if a telehealth visit is appropriate
  • New patients: We are continuing to accept new patients for our non-surgical weight loss programs

Weight loss medication

Medical appointments are made on a monthly basis to assist you in weight loss. A medication appropriate for your needs and medical conditions may help you manage your appetite and help you curb cravings.

Partial Fast

You can access a partial fast option at CMC too, called the OPTIMISTIC LIFESTYLE. The plan allows for 1000-1200 calories for women and 1200-1500 calories for men and includes a combination of OPTIFAST® shakes, soups or bars, paired with your own healthy self-prepared foods. Specific guidance is provided via fresh food lists, frozen entrees for those who eat them, and ready-made foods that work with the partial fast. Carbs are limited and healthy fats are encouraged daily. This program does not require medical monitoring. Participation in the program includes group nutrition, exercise and behavior modification classes. Meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month.
