X-Ray (Radiology)

State-of-the-art diagnostic imaging at CMC provides the detailed information needed to determine the best care.

An x-ray is a common imaging test used to view the inside of your body without having to make an incision. This can help in diagnosing, monitoring and treating many medical conditions. To ensure optimal image quality with the shortest imaging times, our general x-ray diagnostic imaging equipment includes direct digital imaging.

Fluoroscopy is a study of moving body structures-similar to an x-ray ‘movie’. A continuous x-ray beam is passed through the part of the body being examined. The beam is transmitted to a monitor similar to a TV so that the body part and its motion can be viewed in detail. Fluoroscopy may be used for:

  • Barium x-rays (view movement in the GI tract)
  • Colon evaluation
  • Following bariatric surgery
  • During image guided procedures
