The CardioMEMS™ Heart Failure System is a state-of-the-art monitoring system that can predict when a patient’s heart failure symptoms are about to worsen. The system’s small, implanted sensor measures pulmonary artery (PA) pressure – an early indicator of an impending heart failure event. If there is a spike in PA pressure, the system alerts the patient’s heart failure nurse who can then adjust medications and prevent worsening symptoms and hospitalization.

The system sends information to your provider that he or she can use to reduce your chances of developing new or worsening symptoms or going to the hospital.
The system is easy to use and patients will be trained to use the system before they are released from the hospital. The system also comes with startup instructions and a user’s guide.
You will use the system every day to send PA pressure readings to your provider. It only takes a few minutes.
You can have an MRI scan under certain conditions. Talk with the provider ordering the MRI to ensure that he or she knows you have a CardioMEMS™ PA sensor.
Yes. Your sensor will not alert or be affected by airport security or anti-theft systems that require you to pass through a metal detector or a scanning machine.
No. If you have a pacemaker or ICD, your PA sensor will not interfere with those devices, even when you are taking a reading.
