Catholic Medical Center (CMC) is deeply appreciative of the generosity of its supporters, who helped raise more than $190,000 towards patient care and safety during its 50th Anniversary Gala. CMC’s signature event, held on Friday, October 25, welcomed 220 donors, supporters and staff of CMC at the Manchester Country Club. “As this year marks CMC’s 50th anniversary, it was wonderful to come together and celebrate our rich history,” said Alex Walker, CMC’s President & CEO. “Many of those in attendance have been part of CMC since its inception in 1974, making this gathering truly special. We are especially grateful to our generous donors; the funds raised will support critical initiatives, including an advanced infant security system to protect our smallest patients and enhancements to safety protocols in our emergency department.” Each year during the gala, the prestigious Charles F. Whittemore Award is presented to an individual or organization that exemplifies CMC’s spirit and values. This year, the award was presented to Lu Mulla, RN, BSN, MN, recognizing her outstanding contributions to the nursing profession and her dedication to our patients and community. Lu played a pivotal role during the COVID-19 pandemic, leading the establishment of a 250-bed alternate care site at the Stanley Spiro Fieldhouse at SNHU and coordinating vaccination clinics for both CMC staff and the greater Manchester community. She currently serves as CMC’s Vice President of Operations at the New England Heart & Vascular Institute. We sincerely thank our generous sponsors—your support truly makes a difference at CMC.
