Catholic Medical Center named American Heart Association’s Hospital Cup champions
American Heart Association—June 4, 2016—An eight week challenge among three of New Hampshire’s top hospitals resulted in more than $40 thousand dollars to support the life-saving work of the American Heart Association. The coveted cup was claimed at the June 4th Heart and Stroke Walk at the Derryfield Park in Manchester by Catholic Medical Center who raised more than half the total amount, $24,331. The competing hospitals included Elliot Health System and Dartmouth-Hitchcock.
At CMC we strive to be at the “heart” of everyday so it is especially rewarding to have won the Heart Walk Hospital Cup Challenge.” said Dr. Joseph Pepe, President and CEO of Catholic Medical Center. But what is most gratifying is that, together, all three hospitals were able to raise more than $40 thousand to benefit of the patients community and the health of future generations.
The Hospital Cup was a challenge organized by the American Heart and American Stroke Association for hospitals and healthcare professionals to raise lifesaving dollars to support cardiovascular research through the Heart & Stroke Walk.
The Heart and Stroke Walk was attended by more than twelve hundred walkers who were there in support of survivors or walked in memory of family members they lost to heart disease or stroke. The walk raised more than $180,000 to advance their mission of building healthier lives free of cardiovascular disease and stroke.
