CMC’s Cardiac Care receives 4-star rating from the American College of Cardiology’s National Cardiovascular Data Registry
Developed in 1997 by the American College of Cardiology (ACC), the National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) was created as an exploration into strategies for improving
cardiovascular care through the use and application of clinical data. Today, the NCDR is a reputable and dependable quality improvement resource that continues to evolve to meet the demands of the changing health care environment.
Recently the NCDR has begun public reporting. The first report, which shows data for the calendar year 2014, NCDR decided to focus on diagnostic Catheterization and Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) medication metrics.
Catholic Medical Center has received a rating of four stars, the highest rating for all four categories reported.

What does this mean to you? With
CardioSmart
, a program developed by the American College of Cardiology, you will now be able to find and compare hospitals in your area based on the cardiac services they provide and important information related to the care they give. You can make more informed choices about your treatment options by learning if your hospital is participating in cardiac data registries and/or quality improvement programs and select the best hospital for you and your condition.
Cardiac data registries are national databases that collect information on specific heart conditions or procedures performed in hospitals. Quality improvement programs give hospitals the tools and resources they need to improve how they deliver care.
