Nationally Recognized Norris Cotton Cancer Center
Norris Cotton Cancer Center, which has been designated as one of only 49 National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the U.S., is located in the Notre Dame Pavilion on the campus of Catholic Medical Center. Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center's Norris Cotton Cancer Center at CMC brings research-based cancer care to southern New Hampshire. In addition to treating all forms of cancer and providing onsite chemotherapy, Norris Cotton Cancer Center at CMC offers patients access to the latest cancer treatments through clinical trials.

New Model of Cancer Care — Close to Home
Patients treated at Norris Cotton Cancer Center at CMC have the benefit of the center’s research and evidenced-based cancer treatments. As a patient, you also have access to a wide range of cancer specialists and interdisciplinary teams of physician specialists. This new approach brings together several cancer specialists for a particular type of cancer and greatly improves patient-centered care. As a patient of Norris Cotton Cancer Center at CMC, you can stay close to home in southern New Hampshire for your cancer care, even if you require advanced and specialized treatments as part of a clinical trial.

Norris Cotton Cancer Center at Catholic Medical Center is on the 4th floor of the Notre Dame Pavilion, at 87 McGregor Street across from CMC. Notre Dame Pavilion is close to other services patients may require, convenient to the highway, and is connected to the CMC parking garage.

Murphy Unit Inpatient Cancer Care
Patients needing inpatient cancer treatment stay in the Murphy Unit at CMC. The Murphy Unit provides medical and surgical care and focuses on most forms of cancer treatment, pain management and palliative care.

Commission on Cancer National Accreditation
The Cancer Program at Catholic Medical Center has been approved by the American College of Surgeons, Commission on Cancer since 1976. The Cancer Registry, a required element for accreditation, is responsible for accurate and timely collection of cancer patient data, allowing for evaluation of patient outcomes and identification of opportunities for improvement. The registry also includes long-term follow-up of patients, encouraging clinical follow-up and surveillance of additional primaries.

Cancer Care Committee — Commitment to Patient Care
The Cancer Program at Catholic Medical Center is guided by the Cancer Committee, a group of physicians and hospital leaders who are committed to continuous performance improvement in the diagnosis, treatment and care of cancer patients. Through ongoing physician and nursing education and training in the latest diagnostics and treatment, Catholic Medical Center provides the latest technology and treatment options to patients. Physicians from all specialties, as well as CMC nursing staff, meet regularly to collaborate and discuss each patient’s diagnosis and determine the best course of treatment and care.
