Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm

An abdominal aortic aneurysm is when the large blood vessel that supplies blood to the areas around the abdomen, pelvis, and legs becomes abnormally large. CMC's Surgical Care Group physicians, physician assistants and helpful support staff will guide you through your treatment. Our physicians have over 50 years of combined experience in general, vascular, bariatric, advanced laparoscopic, endovascular, breast, colon, endocrine, and venous surgery. The Surgical Care Group’s ICAVL-Accredited vascular laboratory provides non-invasive evaluation and diagnosis with same-day test results.

Abrasion

An abrasion is a wound causing superficial damage to the skin. The Comprehensive Wound Healing Center at CMC has a state-of-the-art facility and five physicians covering specialties such as podiatry, vascular, plastic, and general wound healing. We also provide nutritional education, psychosocial support, and referrals to appropriate healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive the best care.

Acute Coronary Syndrome

Acute coronary syndrome is an emergency condition and happens when the heart is not getting enough blood. The New England Heart Institute of CMC's cardiologists are board certified in interventional cardiology, electrophysiology and non-invasive cardiology. In addition to being recognized as America's 100 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care and Coronary Intervention, we have a Five-Star rating for Treatment of Heart Attacks, 100% heart failure compliance from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and we are board certified in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Acute Deep Vein Thrombosis

Acute Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot in a deep vein and it can obstruct blood flow. Airway Obstruction

New England Sleep Center

Airway obstruction is a blockage in the breathing tubes. The blockage can occur for many different reasons; large tonsils, or the tongue falling back and blocking the airway. This would result in airway resistance, decrease in airflow, or complete cession of breathing. Improved sleep can enhance your overall health. The New England Sleep Center at CMC is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Our clinical staff works closely with our Board certified team.

		‘Top Performer on Key Quality Measures™’ Recognition from The Joint Commission CMC was recognized for its achievement on the following measure sets: Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Pneumonia, and Surgical Care.

		Catholic Medical Center receives Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Silver Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes CMC’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of stroke care by ensuring that stroke patients receive treatment according to nationally accepted standards and recommendations.

		CMC receives a 3 star rating by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons The Society of Thoracic Surgeons has developed a comprehensive rating system for the quality of cardiac surgery among hospitals across the country. Approximately 12-15% of hospitals received the 3 star rating which denotes the highest category of care. Since January 2010 the cardiac surgery performance of our hospital was found to lie in the highest quality tier, thereby receiving an STS 3 star rating.

		Named to Harvard Pilgrim's 2012 Hospital Honor Roll The Hospital Honor Roll names those hospitals whose performance was among the top 25% of those measured nationally on a set of composite quality metrics.
