MammogramSpecialized Care All under One Roof
At the Breast Care Center, you can feel comfortable that all of your breast health care needs are managed in one, coordinated and connected system. The Breast Care Center provides services designed to manage, diagnose, treat and heal.

Breast Health Support
If you have breast health issues, you receive risk assessment, consultation and education services from our breast health specialists.

Support Groups
If you are undergoing treatment for breast cancer, our breast cancer support groups provide comfort, care and camaraderie from other women in treatment, as well as from our breast health specialists.

Digital Screening Mammography
Your digital mammogram, the gold standard for detecting breast cancer, is performed using state-of-the-art digital mammography equipment. For your comfort, we use the soft touch MammoPad®.

One of our female technologists, registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in both mammography and radiography, will perform your mammogram. Radiologists who are board certified with the American College of Radiology interpret your results. The iCAD, a computer program that aides in the detection of breast abnormalities, also reviews your images.

If you are still having periods, you should have a mammogram 7 to 14 days after you start your period. If your last mammogram was done elsewhere, please make arrangements to have that study sent to us, or bring it with you.

Digital Diagnostic Mammography
A diagnostic mammogram usually involves special pictures of your breasts to examine a lump or something seen on a screening mammogram. The radiologist may review your study before you leave. Breast ultrasound may also be performed with a diagnostic mammogram.

Our mammography services are accredited by the American College of Radiology and certified by the Food and Drug Administration.

Breast Ultrasound
Performed while you are lying down, a breast ultrasound evaluates lumps and breast lesions. A probe is moved over the area and sound waves help determine if the area is solid or fluid-filled.

Breast MRI
A breast MRI, a supplement to mammography and ultrasound, uses a magnetic field and radio waves to give a 3-D view of your breasts for further evaluation.

Breast Biopsies
If you need a breast biopsy, we perform stereotactic and ultrasound-guided breast biopsies, as well as fine needle and cyst aspirations. Your biopsy is coordinated with your doctor, the radiologist and our breast health specialist to make sure you get the right biopsy for your situation.

Ancillary and Rehabilitation Services
If you require treatment for breast cancer, we work closely with you to determine the best course of treatment. Our care team includes a surgical oncologist, medical oncologist, radiation oncologist and reconstructive surgeon.

Bone Density or DEXA Scan
A bone density test is a painless procedure to evaluate your bone mineral density to determine if you have osteoporosis. A DEXA scan is the gold standard to assess bone density.

Oncology Exercise Program
If you are undergoing breast cancer treatment, participating in our Oncology Exercise Program can help you feel better and stronger.

*Blue Distinction® Centers met overall quality measures for patient safety and outcomes, developed with input from the medical community. Blue Distinction® Centers+ also met cost measures that address consumers’ need for affordable healthcare. Individual outcomes may vary. National criteria is displayed on www.bcbs.com. A Local Blue Plan may require additional criteria for facilities located in its own service area. To find out which services and providers (including hospital based physicians) are covered under your policy, or to learn about Local Blue Plan Criteria, contact your Local Blue Plan; and contact your provider before making an appointment to verify its current Network and Blue Distinction Centers status. Each hospital’s Cost Index is calculated separately, based on data from its Local Blue Plan. Hospitals in portions of CA, ID, NY, PA, and WA may lie in areas served by two Local Blue Plans, resulting in two Cost Index figures; and their own Local Blue Plans decide whether all hospitals in these areas must meet Blue Distinction Centers+ national criteria for one or both Cost Index figures. Neither Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association nor any Blue Plans are responsible for damages, losses, or non-covered charges resulting from Blue Distinction or other provider finder information or care received from Blue Distinction or other providers. To find out more, contact your Local Blue Plan.
