The Mom’s Place believes that all pregnant women and their families should be given the opportunity to receive education and support in order to promote healthy pregnancy, birth, and adjustment to the role of parenting. The Childbirth Education Programs seek to provide information that will help empower parents by enabling them to make informed choices regarding their birth experience. The experienced registered nurses and educators of The Mom’s Place are committed to promoting a positive adaptation to parenthood and confidence in parenting skills through continued support and education programs.

PLANNING FOR A BABY
Are you thinking about beginning a family? Learn how to promote a healthy pregnancy through lifestyle choices. Registration required. Fee: $15
PARENTING FROM THE BEGINNING
Parenting begins during pregnancy. Learn how a developing baby communicates with mom and the benefits of providing a healthy nurturing environment for your baby before birth. Registration required. Fee: $15 single class - Free with paid registration to Caring for Your Newborn class.
CONGRATULATIONS! YOU’RE PREGNANT!
These early weeks can be overwhelming, so knowledge is power! Come learn about your journey toward parenthood. We will discuss the in's and out's of nutrition, medications, exercise and prenatal care. Intended for women up to 12 weeks pregnant. Registration required. Fee: $25
PREPARING FOR BIRTH (FOUR WEEKS)
Getting ready for labor and birth is an exciting stage in your pregnancy journey. You’ve heard labor stories, watched birth shows on television, read a lot of books - and still you’re not sure what to expect. Our certified childbirth educators will help expectant families breathe a sigh of relief about their upcoming birth. Registration required.

PREPARING FOR BIRTH (ONE DAY)
For the parents-to-be with tight schedules, the Saturday workshop is designed to provide couples with the fundamentals of labor and birth, strategies for coping, and developing a personal plan for their labor and birth experience. Registration required. Fee: $110
BREASTFEEDING
Learn about the fundamentals of breastfeeding. How to prepare, help your baby get started, and pumping and storing milk will be among the skills covered by our own lactation specialist. Registration required. Fee: $30
CARING FOR YOUR NEWBORN I & II
This two-part program is designed to move parents along from parenting their baby in pregnancy to preparing for parenting after the baby is born. Topics discussed include picking a pediatrician, feeding choices, newborn and infant health concerns, equipment, and infant care for the first few days following birth. This program is co-facilitated by a pediatric healthcare provider and a registered nurse educator. Registration required. Fee: $30
CHILDBIRTH REFRESHER CLASS
This single evening class is intended for the parents who have taken a full childbirth education series with a previous pregnancy and wish to “brush up” on their strategies for managing the labor and birth experience. Registration required. Fee: $35
DOUBLE DELIGHT…PLANNING FOR A MULTIPLE BIRTH (FOUR WEEKS)
Giving birth to more than one infant offers a special kind of excitement and concerns for new parents. This four-week program addresses those specific concerns. Late pregnancy and labor comfort strategies, as well as sharing issues related to birth options are among the topics discussed. Registration required. Fee: $110
CESAREAN BIRTH CLASS
This program is for women who have a higher risk for a cesarean birth or already are expecting to have a cesarean birth. Discussion involves the preparation for cesarean, expectations of the process of birth, and recovery, and caring for baby. A tour is included. Fee: $15
BECOMING A BIG BROTHER OR BIG SISTER
This program is offered at developmentally appropriate levels to introduce the idea that your child is becoming a sibling. A tour of the Mom’s Place is included. Separate classed are offered for “Nearly two” and two year olds, for three to six year olds and six to 10 year olds. Registration required. Fee: $10 per family
MOMMY AND ME EDUCATION AND SUPPORT PROGRAM (FREE)
This program meets weekly and is offered for mothers adjusting to the developing role of parenthood. Registration required.
DIABETES IN PREGNANCY SUPPORT (FREE)
Managing your diagnosis of diabetes can be very challenging especially in pregnancy. The lifestyle and diet changes that keep your blood sugar on target can have lifelong benefits to your health. This group offers the support to make those changes and is facilitated by a Diabetic Educator and Childbirth Educator from The Mom’s Place. Registration required.
NEW PARENTS NETWORK (FREE)
A monthly support program for Moms adjusting to the change in lifestyle and relationships since the birth of the new baby. Monthly topics will be discussed such as finding balance, sleep issues, going back to work, limit setting, and more. Infants and Dads welcome to attend. Registration required.
BREASTFEEDING SUCCESS SUPPORT (FREE)
Promote an enhanced breastfeeding experience for the first six months through support from our Lactation Consultants and other breastfeeding moms. Topics include Adjusting to those first few weeks, sleeping issues, and returning to work. Registration required.
