The Catholic Medical Center Board of Nursing approved Nurse Extern Program is a seven-week summer program designed to provide clinical nurse experiences, which will strengthen the knowledge base of the nursing student.
The work experience will provide the opportunity to apply student learning in clinical settings, to practice newly learned skills and to develop nursing judgments, all under the direct supervision of an experienced professional nurse.
The program is open to students who will have completed their junior year of a baccalaureate degree nursing program and students who will have completed their first year of an associate degree nursing program.
