The Marketing and Corporate Communications Department is available to assist media professionals in search of health care news sources. We are on-call 24 hours a day to help you locate expert physicians and researchers who can add value to your news story.
The Marketing and Corporate Communications Department is available to the media during normal business hours, as well as after hours and on weekends. Media inquiries can be directed to 603.668.3545. A representative of the department will get back to you and provide you with information, as allowed in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
In order to ensure patient privacy, patient information is limited to a one-word condition. Members of the media must provide the first and last name of a patient in order to obtain this information.
Patient condition definitions are as follows:
Treated & Released: Patient received treatment but was not admitted.
Good: Vital signs are stable and within normal limits. The patient is conscious and comfortable. Indicators are excellent.
Fair: Vital signs are stable and within normal limits. The patient is conscious but may be uncomfortable. Indicators are favorable.
Serious: Vital signs may be unstable. The patient is acutely ill. There is a chance for improvement.
Critical: Vital signs may be unstable and not within normal limits. Patient may be unconscious. Indicators are unfavorable.
Expired: Once next-of-kin has been notified and verification is received and if the deceased patient is not a privacy patient, the hospital may disclose the patient’s death. No other information, regarding cause of death or other information related to their treatment can be disclosed.
Undetermined: Patient is awaiting physician and/or assessment.
