When we decided to bring the babies back to Catholic Medical Center, we knew that the little things could make a big difference. So we asked the experts - Moms - what they want in a birth center to make their experience more comfortable, more caring and more personal. The result is The Mom's Place, a family-centered birthing program designed especially by and for new moms.

A place like no other
Spacious rooms and a home-like ambience are not the only things that make The Mom’s Place distinctive. What sets it apart is the philosophy of birthing. And that philosophy is very distinct: the focus is on what’s important to you. No attention to detail is too small. No issue too overwhelming, just share your request with us.

Before your expected due date, you are encouraged to meet with the nursing staff and physicians or midwives to design your own birth experience. Your family and whoever you wish is always welcome.

It is our mission to ensure you are cared for in a medically-safe environment by a team of highly skilled doctors, midwives and nurses who understand our way of caring. It is then up to you to decide what’s important.

Our entire staff at The Mom’s Place has been specially selected and trained for this type of service. The Mom’s Place features a concept known as Mom-Baby Care. You stay in an attractive suite during labor, birth, recovery and postpartum. You and your baby are cared for by a nurse whose focus is on both of you. You are cared for as a couplet.

At The Mom’s Place, we recognize birth as a miraculous and normal part of life. Here, we focus on well moms and babies. Certainly, we have all the medical backup needed for those unexpected moments, but our focus is on birth as a healthy part of life. Should the need arise, we do have in place a transfer agreement for high-end neonatal care whose primary mission is the care of the newborn with special medical needs.

A place as unique as you
The Mom's Place features twelve large suites outfitted to look like a bed and breakfast. Each room is designed differently, featuring a historic connection to south central New Hampshire. Designed like a country inn, you are encouraged to select the room you want for your stay, if available.
In addition to the unique birthing bed, each room includes a lovely armoire, daybed for overnight guests, rocker, recliner, fridge and microwave. And there’s cable television with a VCR/DVD/CD player and high speed Internet access. Plus, your private bathroom provides space for your toiletries, as well as a deep whirlpool tub for relaxing baths and a hairdryer.

There’s a Baby Lounge for those moments when you may want to sleep undisturbed – that’s okay here. We have installed the latest in security to protect your baby and will require check-ins for all visitors to protect your privacy.

A triage room is available for monitoring and evaluation of labor.

There’s a family room for your guests to wait if you need temporary privacy and a special room for adoptive moms and dads.
