Change the Way You Look at Life
The Eye Institute at Catholic Medical Center is the only hospital-based facility in New Hampshire to offer the VISX® Excimer Laser System for laser vision correction surgery. Ophthalmologists from around the state utilize the Eye Institute to conduct laser vision correction surgery. The procedure corrects nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism, eliminating or reducing the need for corrective lenses. This correction is done using the VISX Excimer Laser System Star S4 with Active Trak™ Iris Registration, which uses a laser beam of ultraviolet light to reshape the surface, or cornea, of the eye by removing mere microns of tissue. This allows the eye to more accurately focus images. The anesthetic is administered by eye drops; there are no needles involved. The actual surgery is relatively short and the amount of time the laser is active on the eye is usually a minute or less. Your total time at the Eye Institute is approximately two hours. Within a few hours or several days, vision generally becomes significantly clearer.

A financing plan is now available for vision correction surgery. For more information about the Eye Institute, please call 603.663.2020 or e-mail eyeinstitute@cmc-nh.org
