We feature education services centered on human fertility. The primary service of the program is to teach women how to recognize the language of fertility. Through the self-monitoring of the biological signs of fertility, a woman can identify when she enters and leaves her window of fertility. Knowing how to identify the time of fertility enables couples to achieve or avoid pregnancy without chemicals or devices of any kind. All follow-up instruction is done on a private basis.

This approach to managing fertility has many benefits:
  • Understanding fertility
  • Safe and healthy
  • Increase couple communication
  • Increased couple intimacy
  • Highly effective when used to achieve or avoid pregnancy
  • Fits with moral, ethical and spiritual beliefs
  • Easy to use
  • Cost effective
  • Better self-advocacy for health care

Models for managing fertility include:
  • Marquette Model of Natural Family Planning (NFP)
    • The Marquette Model brings 21st century technology to NFP by using the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor, a device used at home that measures hormone levels in urine to pinpoint ovulation.  The information from this monitor is then used in conjunction with other biological markers of fertility to confidently determine the woman’s fertile times.
    • With proper use this system is highly effective to either achieve or avoid pregnancy.
    • Who can use the Marquette Model of NFP?
      • Couples seeking to space pregnancies
      • Couples struggling with infertility
      • Breastfeeding women
      • Peri-menopausal women
      • Women with irregular cycles
      • Women interested in health monitoring
    • Classes include both group and private sessions.
  • The Standard Days Method (SDM) of Natural Family Planning
    • The Standard Days Method (SDM) is an effective new method of natural family planning developed through scientific analysis of the fertile time in the woman’s menstrual cycle.
    • To use the SDM, a couple tracks the woman’s menstrual cycle and avoids intercourse on fertile days 8 through 19 – if they want to avoid a pregnancy.  Most users of the SDM rely on use of the CycleBeads, a color-coded string of beads, to help them track their cycle and identify the days when pregnancy is most likely.  With proper use this method is highly effective to avoid pregnancy.
    • Who can use the Standard Days Method of NFP?
      • Women who are having regular cycles of 26 – 32 days in length can use this method.
    • Classes may be taught in group or private sessions.
