We offer a full-range of state-of-the-art services for the early detection and diagnosis of cancer. The Diagnostic Imaging Department at Catholic Medical Center encompasses the sections of Main Radiology (X-ray), CT Scanning, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Vascular/Interventional Imaging and the Breast Care Center.

Oncology Imaging is state-of the-art at CMC; from the basic chest X-ray to the highest quality MRI, all images are digitally acquired, stored and displayed via our electronic PACS system.

CT, MRI and Ultrasound all have the ability to visualize anatomy and manipulate that data into 3-D and 4-D models. These models can then be rotated and adjusted to reveal, in exquisite detail, pathology and its relationship to surrounding normal tissue.

Nuclear medicine shows how the body responds physiologically on the cellular level. This is called Functional Imaging, the fastest growing area in the imaging of cancer. Utilizing specific computer software, CMC is able to take information from CT, MRI or Ultrasound (pictures of the structures) and overlay them with the nuclear medicine data (pictures of how the body functions). The resulting ‘fused’ images demonstrate not only the relationship between normal and abnormal anatomy, but also the differences in normal/abnormal function. This image fusion technology provides your doctor with the tools necessary to plan your treatment.
