About Oncology Services at CMC
At Catholic Medical Center, we know how frightening it can be if you, or someone you love, has cancer. We offer full inpatient oncology services, including diagnosis, medical and surgical interventions, chemotherapy, pain management, palliative care, and hospice care. We also have outpatient services that offer blood transfusions, medical treatment, and diagnostic workup as well as wellness programs, including an oncology exercise program and support groups. Just as important, we have a team of professionals that will provide you with the information and support you need to face this disease. The nursing and clinical staffs work very closely with oncologists, hematologist, surgeons, radiologists and primary care physicians associated with Catholic Medical Center.
National Accreditation
The Cancer Program at Catholic Medical Center has been approved by the American College of Surgeons, Commission on Cancer since 1976. The Cancer Registry, a required element for accreditation, is responsible for accurate and timely collection of cancer patient data, which allows for evaluation of patient outcomes and identification of opportunities for improvement. Another component of the registry is to provide long-term follow-up of patients, therefore encouraging clinical follow-up and surveillance of additional primaries. This is done on an annual basis.
